The Labour Assembly

The labour assembly was the first Turkish tripartite institution, founded in 1945. It meets very infrequently. As such, the assembly only met 9 times since its establishment with the last meeting organized in 2004. This consultative body cannot conclude any binding decisions.

The labour assembly in 2004 was composed as follows:

  • 35 government officials
  • 19 employer’ representatives
  • 7 employee’ representatives
